The Reality: Kitsap Peninsula & Puget Sound

THE REALITY

Unfortunately, Amtrak decided to pull their bike-carrying train from the line for repairs AFTER we’d bought tickets and made reservations. So we made adjustments . . .

Going

We took the train to Seattle, met up with friends who’d brought our bikes from home and who dropped us off at the start of the Interurban Trail in Edmonds, near the golf course on  . . .

Lake Ballinger (Edmonds) – Lynnwood – Everett – Mukilteo Ferry – Whidbey Island – Port Townsend

Returning

Port Townsend – Port Gamble – Poulsbo – Bainbridge Island – Vashon Island – Steilacoom – Winlock

. . . and another friend came and picked us up at twilight and carried us over the Longview Bridge and home.
