THE PLAN
We had originally planned to continue northwest from Naselle, WA and ride along Willapa Bay to Long Beach, WA, but heavy rain and a friendly (Harley) biker convinced us to drop south and take Kingston Ferry Rd (401) with its nice wide bike shoulder and relatively level terrain for a quicker ride to shelter. Here’s the map of our original plan.
THE MAPS
Riding along the highway can be fatiguing – the constant vigilance, the cars looming so close to the shoulder. Another year I’d like to try this route on some of the side roads suggested by Google maps beta bicycle router.
